Skyride

Grouse Mountain Vancouver BC – May 2019

While the food was amazing at The Observatory this post is really about the ride up. We will be posting a blog about the amazing dinner we had there very soon!

There are two main ways to get the top of  Grouse Mountain in Vancouver BC. There is the 2.9 kilometre Grouse Grind Trail, commonly referred to as “Mother Nature’s Stairmaster” which has 2830 stairs that ascend 1127 metres (3700 feet!). While over 150,000 people hike this every year we were not two of them 🙂

The other way up of course is the Grouse Mountain Skyride. This Gondola briskly takes you over the Douglas Firs on a majestic ride to the top. The views of Vancouver from here just can’t be beat. We were so mesmerized by view we didn’t actually take very many pictures. This is the sort of thing you need to see in person.

The Skyride operates 365 days a year from 8:45am to 10:00pm every 15 minutes so there is lots of flexibility if you want to try and plan your ride up or down around the sunset which we highly recommend.

Grouse Mountain

There are many things to do up at top and unfortunately our experience this time was really about the food so I don’t have pictures of the Wildlife, Lumberjack Show, Grouse Grind, Ziplines of any of the other many activities you can do there.

Next time!
